Legal Status of Lottery in India
In India, 13 states have legalized the operation and participation in lottery games. Nagaland is one of these states, where lottery has been legal since 1967. The other 12 states that allow lottery are Assam, Mizoram, Kerala, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, West Bengal and Sikkim.
